Searchlight is a fast and scalable premium file content search system that was originally developed to search Government and military networks from data contamination.
For instance, Searchlight scanned files before they were loaded onto a network to ensure that no files of a higher classification than the network was accredited to hold were loaded.
Searchlight can search any file for single or multiple keywords, phrases, ASCII / HEX sequences and Regular Expressions. However, it is predominantly used to search for files containing Personal / Sensitive data. Once identified, these files can then be protected – thus helping companies to avoid receiving a fine under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDP)
Searchlight’s Main Screen
The following screen is Searchlight’s main screen that is displayed when the Searchlight icon is double clicked from the desktop. The top banner displays the release number (25.1 in this case) followed by the version.
The bottom of the screen displays licence information and an email address that can be used to request support.
